Dr. Namrata Borkotoky is an Assistant Professor in the Liberal Arts program at CHRIST (Deemed to be University). She earned her PhD in environmental history from IIT Guwahati. Her research focused on the environmental history of tea plantations in colonial Assam. Her work critically examined land use, labor exploitation, and environmental changes in the Assam tea industry. She also holds a Master?s in Development Studies from IIT Guwahati. Her research interests include natural resource extraction, labor relations, and gender dynamics in industrial settings. Dr. Namrata also studies the impact of industrial and agricultural practices on human communities and ecosystems. She has published her work in leading journals like Environment and History and the Indian Historical Review.
