The EPH (English, Political Science and History) program at the department integrates multi-disciplinary approaches to the Humanities and Social Sciences. It reinforces the symbiotic relationship between social and political histories, philosophies of the State and nationhood, varied discourses of culture, and the relevance of narrativizing these elements through the process of reading and writing literature. This combination of subjects, offered over 3 years of the B.A. Course, aims to equip students with the ability to address critical questions concerning contemporary social and political thought, comprehend and challenge established notions of the historical interventions into questions of individual and collective identities, and deploy literary readings and theoretical concepts in a wide array of careers ranging from creative and research writing to administration, political reform, public policy intervention and activism.
Program Structure – BA Political Science Honours
B.A. Honours Program in Political Science at Bangalore Bannerghatta Road Campus, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) equips the students to understand affairs of state in three ways: first, by excelling in advanced theoretical and application-oriented curriculum; second, by experiencing political, administrative and policy field through internships; and third, by harnessing the practical world of domestic and international politics to develop original thought while doing dissertation research projects. Skills to be imparted are critical and analytical skills, research skills, public speaking, crisis management and decision making.
Programme Outcome
The Political Science Honours programme is a four-year programme, having Economics and Media Studies as allied subjects, which will facilitate the students to expand their perspectives towards socio-economic and political phenomenon, at national as well as international level. Students will be exposed to critical intellectual thinking from an interdisciplinary perspective.
By the end of the programme students should be able to:

# The fee for Karnataka domicile students, as indicated in the table, is the actual fee payable and excludes the scholarship amount. It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for three years, there may be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs. 1. NRI fee is applicable for the first year for candidates who have studied foreign syllabus (has to be approved by UGC / AIU) in the qualifying examination of study in India. (The above condition is not applicable to NRI and candidates applied under NRI Category). 2. NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the Programme for candidates who; 2.1.
