Children’s Literature is a difficult genre because the writing is done by adults, who write for an ideal imaginary child. Equipping oneself with the necessary skills for writing and narrativising for children becomes imperative rather han simply ideologically analysing them. As part of the LCA course on Writing and Publishing for Children (ENG202-3B), the third-semester BA English students will be participating in a curated workshop to help them develop some essential kills in storytelling and performing narratives for children. The workshop to be held on 5th August, in collaboration with Vikram Sridhar, will introduce and explore the forms and art of storytelling for children and upskill students with erformance skills appropriate for children.
Vikram Sridhar is a Performance Storyteller, Children’s literary Festival Curator, Theatre Practitioner and Narrative-based Facilitator, combining his various interests and work over 20+ years in Theatre, conservation and social work.
